I have over 400 sites exluded for one of my campaigns but there has be ZERO impact on the number of clicks. If anything clicks have increased through the content network for this campaign.

Must sites you exclude be approved before they are blocked?

I know for a fact these sites deliver a lot of junk traffic through the content network but no decrease at all in traffic seems strange.

Any ideas?

Perhaps it's best to simply opt out of the content network for this campaign. The campaign settings screen will let you uncheck "content network". To answer your question, I don't believe there's an approval process, rather, there may be a delay as your request propagates through the data centers.

You might also look into editing your ad copy. By changing the offer, you might filter out the tire-kickers. Putting more qualifiers such as price and other details can pre-qualify your visitors and reduce the number of unwanted clicks.

Thanks for the reply.

I confirmed with Google that excluded sites are not reviewed but will take a little while for the change to propogate across their system.

Believe it or not the content network traffic is profitable so I want ot keep it running but sonm of the sites are just horrible. One was a vampire mythology site and another was a dog grooming site. No where near relevant to my site.

You're welcome! I'm not surprised to hear that the content network can be profitable (I profit from it every single day.) I am surprised to hear about the poor targetting. I'll be checking my logs more closely!
