AdWords Ads with Sex Related Content

Google's double-standards with regard to AdSense TOS

There is another forum thread in which WW members are discussing the AdSense TOS regarding adult or mature content.
[webmasterworld.com...]

In reply to a question in that thread, AdSenseAdvisor stated the following:

As per our program policies on [google.com...] AdSense ads should not be placed on pages with pornography, adult, or mature content.

Cheers,

ASA

I wanted to start a new thread in the AdWords forum regarding the fact that AdWords Advertisers apparently are not under that same restriction, therefore creating an awkward situation of double-standards.

What ends up happening is that those Sex Related Ads end up showing in the AdSense Content Network on unrelated sites. For instance, we are an expat family with a homeschooling website (displaying AdSense) in our tiny foreign country. Our country is also a famous vacation destination, so there are a lot of AdWords Advertisers for travel.

It is terribly embarassing to have ads such as the following showing on our website:
Sex CountryName Girls
Hot CountryName Travel Adventures
Find Girls, Sex & Nightlife Abroad
www.sexyexample.com

This clicks through to VERY adult content (nudes). Since this AdWords Ad (and many other similar) cannot be placed on an appropriately relevant site in the AdSense Content Network (those sites are against AdSense TOS), they show on many CountryName sites which have nothing to do with sex!

It is difficult for me (and my homeschooling kids!) to keep up with the many Ads of this nature by blocking their URLs in my AdSense Control Panel!

AdWordsAdvisor, can you please provide feedback to the AdWords Google Team regarding this double-standard?

I've actually run into similar issues with my main hobby site, which is supposed to be family oriented, and I keep having to block ads that aren't really appropriate (and in no way related to the content of my site)

To sum up the response I got from Google concerning this same question a couple of year's ago: "Tough."

I was wondering where those adult ads on Adwords content go to. Now I know :)
