Top ad without the blue background

Just did a search for 'adwords' on google.co.uk and the first sponsored listing had a white background.

Normal users will never distinguish this ad from the first organic result. This seems a little naughty - I bet the CTR for such an ad would be very high.

it's blue for me. I can see your point though. if it is the same colour as the organics, many will think it's the no 1 site.

the no 1 sponsored is google.co.uk.... maybe they just do it for themselves.

I just did a few more random searches including some on .com and .cc - all white background.

I'm so embarrassed - just realised the colors on my screen were messed up (i was rdp'ing from another box)!

i wish i could see it for myself. I do think this is google misleading the users a bit to be honest.
