I don’t know nothing about adWords, and I’m virtually new to all this.

So I need you help about this.

I noticed that if you type in a certain phrase (two words) say “Green Widget” in the google search engine my site comes up first at the top.

Does this mean something? Can I do something beneficial about this? A window of opportunity for me to capitalize on?

If you were ever in this situation and benefited, please explain to me how can I achieve anything from it.

This simply means that you don't need adwords to get a good position (for this paticular keyword) as you are already on top for this phrase.

If this phrase is "stinky heaters" then you will find it hard to capitalize on it. However if it were "space heaters" then you could possibly do well with it.

Here's why:

Few people will search for "stinky heaters" while several will search for "space heaters". So if you provide the actual item / service for sale or free info on it with advertisers supporting your free model --- then you stand to make money.

How much depends on both the keyword popularity (number of searches)and the value of the item / service.

While there is far more people searching for "jokes" than "space heaters", you can see that a visitor intrested in space heaters is worth more than one looking for a laugh.

If you aren't familiar, search for "keyword suggestion tool" to find one of the many free tools or pm me for specific suggestions if you aren't afraid to reveal your niche keyword.

Hope it helps :)

you could possibly benefit from an adwords campaign on these terms as well.

If users see your website listed twice on a page, it sometimes gives them a feeling that you may be more worthy than some of the rest. Some people will click on the adwords ads which will cost you money, but from my experience where we have both organic and adwords ads on the same page, most tend to click on the organic listing. But this wouldultimately depend on your position. But as you said No 1, i would think most would click on the organic listing.

It could be worth a trial for a week/month just to see what happens.
