Does Changing Destination URL have any effect

if using a different affiliate link

I have one ad campaign which does very well and am slightly worried about changing it. Basically the display URL is staying the same but want to change the destination URL. This is basically an affiliate link so ends up at the same destination anyway (I just want to use an affiliate link from a better network instead), Just wondered that if I change it then the ad might lose all its good history (CTR of over 50%). Can anyone clarify for me?
Thanks

Any change you make to an ad will trigger a review of the ad.

Just make a new ad with the new destination URL and run both Ads until the new one is in full rotation.

do you mean a totally new ad or just a new ad in the ad group so adwords alternates between the 2. If its the latter I normally find the new ad hardly get a look in cause the original has such a high CTR

The way around losing the ads history is to add the new URL to every keyword (i.e. power posting) as this will change the destination for the visitor, but won't make any ad changes.

so to clarify by keeping the original ads destination the same (even though it will now be never used) but changing all the keywords URL destinations to the new affiliate link i want then i dont lose out at all? Sorry just want to check as i'm talking big bucks!
