The second problem is that while it will tell me if I'm using that particular keyword in the AdGroup I'm in, it won't tell me if I'm already using it in the Campaign, and that's something I want to know.
It works very nicely, esp. the site tool.
But... only if you point it to a specific page that has very tightly focused content.
If the page talks about widgets, gizmos, and goombahs, Google won't be able to determine the theme of the page. So you'll get vague, general, and random KWs.
But if the page is all about (for example) widgets for high-altitude camping, you'll get very good set of keywords.
Try it. It works good.
It's not available to all accts yet. It's not yet in various accts for clients. Most of my clients have it.
Hmmmm.
Actually, Eurydice, the new keyword tool is now available to all advertisers. (Although I should mention that, at present, the 'site' feature you mention is available only to English language interface users. Still, all advertisers should see the other new features.)
If anyone finds that they are not able to see the new keyword tool, (and you aren't accessing the kw tool from a bookmarked page) - then I hope you'll contact support, as I'm sure they'll want to look into it.
BTW, if you have the 'old' kw tool bookmarked, it's best to re-set that bookmark by first going to the new tool through the account interface.
Lastly, I'm glad you are finding the new tool useful Eurydice!

It seems that keywords with 1-bar popularity are in fact not very "popular". Anybody with similar observations?
There is a definite bug in the system preventing some users (including me) from seeing the new tools. The problem has been "elevated" to technical support. I hope they fix it soon.
Yep, you are correct jim2003. Issue is now pinpointed, and will be addressed in the near future. A very small percentage of advertisers are not seeing the new tool, and I'm sorry for the wait experienced by that small number of folks.
I keep getting xmlRequest errors...
Resolution is in the works here too. My apology for the frustration, netmeg.

The new KW Tool wasn't showing up for a client. My rep suggested clearning the cache. That worked.
OK, I have good news, and some not-yet good news.
The good news is that the issue preventing some advertisers from seeing the new KW tool has been wrestled into submission. Everyone should now see it - and if not, the clear cache idea is a good one.
The not-yet good news is that the xmlRequest error issue is still wrestling back. Hang in there, though, netmeg. Progress is being made. ;)

Hope this is an appropriate place to make suggestions on the keyword tool.
Through testing I have found the folling issues:
- It is a great improvement when you are setting up a new account (especially the .csv download option), but TERRIBLE if you use it on large existing accounts with multiple campaigns and adgroups. Why? Well it's based on the "adgroup" you are currently in when you run the tool and if a keyword shows up as already in that adgroup it tells you -- GREAT! BUT, for a large existing account with multiple campaigns and adgroups it can list hundreds of words EVEN THOUGH THEY ALREADY EXIST IN OTHER CAMPAIGNS AND ADGROUPS. Way too much to manually weed through.
- PLEASE, when providing the "site" analysis option of the tool, give us the option of showing "related" OR "found" words on site pages. The default is both.
That's all for now.
