I am with Adwords for a couple of months now. Before the august update I managed to get some traffic and clicks on popular keywords. People were brought to my sites, read my content, sometimes ordered something, or else clicked on some Adsense ads, thus compensating the cost of Adwords. I was happy.
But since the august update, the world of online advertising has changed dramatically, at least for me.
The price of my keywords skyrocketed and all of my keywords became inactive. Some keywords were $ 0.10, but 99 % went to $ 1.00 - $ 5.00.
Now whatever I did, nothing changed.
Making a gazillion ads per adgroup, improving "quality" by having the keyword in the ad and the landingpage, etcetera. After spending hundreds of hours with zero result I decided to bring
my money to Yahoo.
I know, their interface s*cks, but they deliver clicks, and much cheaper than Google does for me.
Although my spendings are modest, the are steadily growing.
Al this money I would gladly spend at Google, but it appears they don't want me to. Keywords for $ 5,00...
It's just insane.
Now lately I thought, lets give G a break and raise my CPC. So I did. Right now I have about 50 keywords active at $ 0.25. Some of them got nothing to do with the ad or the landingpage, but well, if Google thinks they are relevant enough to make them active, who am I to disagree. God knows why I do it, because I get the very same keywords at Yahoo for $ 0.10. And they deliver quality traffic too.
But even so, now I have some keywords active at $ 0.25, and the guesstimator tells me I should have 300 clicks today, I have no more than 3 clicks.
Yes folks, I set my daily budget at a $ 100,-.
I offer Google the opportunity to deliver me clicks for no less than $ 36.500,- each year, right out of my own pocket if they want to. But what do they deliver me? 3 lousy clicks on one day.
I need some advice or an aspirin...
