Why don't words come up in different combinations?

I'm confused!

If I use a phrase

blue widgets

shouldn't they come up in the search

big blue widgets?

I thought that broad match was the default. I must be missing something?

Google chooses the words to combine with broad matched and extended broad matched words.

I'm starting to get the hang of it.
I just keep repeating to my self that Google knows best. ;)

And for the real world. I'm trying to cover as many matches in my keywords that I can.

big widgets
small widgets

big blue widgets
small blue widgets

It's a real pain, but that's what Google wants, so that's what Google gets. :(

check your daily budget. your ad may be coming up for that search term but your daily budget will not show your ad 100% of the time. it may only be showing it 15% of the time and when you look for it it shows the other 85% of the results.

Sorry if this doesn't make sense. it does in my head, but i was out on the drink last night and still feel a bit on the rough side.

if you read this [webmasterworld.com...] i explain why the ad may not show, but written when i was in good mind.

hope this helps
