We have just been told by our adwords rep that we have to make our advert less relevant to the keyword so that it can be approved!
AWA could you shed any light on ths?

How did i find out? well we had most of our clients ads dissaproved! If we want to get them back up again we need a new letter from the client sent to policy..
I can understand why they want to implement this policy but surely they should transfer the current exceptions to the relevent accounts.
AWA could you shed any light on this?
Kind regards
Jamie

jamie_h, when it comes to trademark policy, what is done is entirely dependent on the circumstances at work in each particular situation. As a result, I'm not really able to shed any light on your situation, because I am not aware of any of those circumstances - and there is simply not a one-size-fits-all answer.
As a important point of understanding, though, please know that trademark owners define what exceptions may be made regarding their protected trademarks, not Google.
Also, as mentioned, trademark exceptions are extremely specific to actual circumstances - and it isn't safe to assume that those circumstance are the same from one account to the next within the umbrella of an MCC.
I can only recommend working out next steps with the AdWords support team, who can review the specific factors at work in your MCC and child accounts.

We have only ever tried to follow the rules and advice that is given by Google, so why when a policy changes does the customer suffer?
My first question is even more worrying though. Why should the Google policy team require us to make our ad less relevant?
This surely goes against the foundations that AdWords was built on.
