Advertising on local.google.com?

Anybody heard about this?

I heard from somebody here in my place claiming that Google had opened the local map search (local.google.com) for advertisement. This guy even said you could set up a local search ad right in your Adwords account. Is that true? I don't know nothing about this. Anybody heard this too?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this topic but I couldn't find anywhere more appropriate.

Speaking from experience in the UK there tends to be nothing special required to show ads on local results. Make sure your CTR is good and Google will put you there without any need to ask.

Whether people use the local search to find what you are selling is another matter.

As for an appropriate place for this, you could try the Local Search forum ;)

Is the local search forum is helpful if we want to get targetted customers. Like for finance is it a good idea to do it.

Thanks for the input. After several searches I came to understand that it's just Google network advertising that is just the same as having your ads shown up on AOL or other search sites.

Next time I'll try Google finance or local search forum :)
