Hi Folks,

Say I am a newbie with a desire to put money in Adwords in order to bring people to landingpages that lead to various affiliate merchants. We're basically calling this the Google Cash method, am I right?

OK, now Adwords charges every newbie (or anyone else starting a new campaign with new keywords) about $ 0,50 - $ 5.00 for any given keyword, am I right? As long as you don't have a CTR history, there is no way around this, isn't it?

Then why would any newbie bring money to Adwords if he or she can get the same keywords at Yahoo for $ 0.10?

And do those experienced Adwords users among us who start a completely new campaign with completely new keywords really bring their money to Adwords?
Do you folks really pay $ 0.50 - $ 5.00 for a never used before keyword?

Why would you bother to pay $ 5.00 for a keyword only hoping that Adwords will lower the minimum bid in the near future while you know you can get that same keyword at Yahoo for $ 0.10 instantly?

Or am I completely missing the point here?

No, you are exactly correct. You have to get in on the game early, otherwise google has you over a barrel.
It's all about money, and just how much they can wring out of you. The newer you are to the game, the harder they squeeze.

I don't know why they bother with all this "quality and relevance measurement" BS. Why not just let people bid for keywords and the highest bidders get the top positions. Seems simple to me, and then newbies will be competing on the same playing field.
