How long is review of new ads taking these days?

I tried to find an answer in the posts but couldn't find anything.

I have several new adgroups just sitting there with no impressions. It's been about 24 hours.

All it takes is one sensitive word in your ad (and perhaps your keyword list too) and you're flagged for human review before you'll even show on Google.

Words like:
combat
war
child
kid
and probably 1,000's more will do it.

BTW, I've been running campaigns for 2 years. I just haven't added any new ones in awhile and this one seems to be taking abnormally long.

I was under the impression from AWA's posts that all new ads had a human review before they ran.

So if my experience is any indication, it could take 24+ hours for review.
