Tracking Adwords clicks to the site

Ok, we have third party manage our ad campaigns.

Now I have some tracking on my site via sessions that reports the referring url of a user.

Now in that log I OCCASIONALLY get a referrer of -

hxxp://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/ads? la la la

(hope that ain't going to be classed as a url.....I'll take out some of it)

Shouldn't I be getting these all the time ie to match the stats they are providing me?

Clicks from pagead2.googlesyndication.com are clicks from the content network

Clicks from adwords search network would look like:
[google.ccom...]
