As you can see not many (2 in total) have clicked on my ad, yet i am within the top 5 for all my ads and #1 for a few. Also the CTR look quite high for me as being as the campaign is only 2 days old.
Should i give it more time or have you any other suggestions? People just dont seem to be clicking on the ad.
The ad itself i thought was good and to the point.
Have you tested a few different copy versions?
Not sure what you mean here, Ive entered my keywords and they show up #1 to #5 in google ads
Do you have all 12 keywords in the same adgroup or are they in seperate ad groups?
No they are all in the same group, should i create different groups and include more keywords?
Are you using either negative keywords or the matching options?
im using words like "in" does this matter
thankyou
Andrew
In adwords you can have numerous ads set up for the same group. What this allows you to do is test different "copy versions"
One could say:
Wonder Widgets

Free shipping on all orders

And another could say:
Discount Widgets
We offer over 200 widgets
to serve your widget needs.

What this lets you do is compare ads and see which one is giving you a better click through rate. If you track them further you could go after conversion rate and/or ROI.

Those threads are also usefull too :)
I think i'll create a few more ad copies tonight and see what happens. It is still early days, but i would have thought I would have had more than 2 clicks from over 400 CTR in total by now!
if youd like to see my ad i can always sticky you, so you can comment if it is up to scratch!
(but please dont click on it, im not that rich hehe)
Always try to make sure you have the keyword in the copy. Adwords highlights the word when a user searches for it and then your ads "pops" a little more. Having seperate ads for each keyword group (a group being where the keywords are simaler, normally the main keyword and then any variations such as misspellings or alternatives of the main one) helps alot there. Doing this alone should improve CTR for you.
Cruise around on this forum going back a few weeks (or months if you have the time) It's chocked full of tips and tricks to improve CTR. You might also want to look at the Overture and PPC engine forums as well.
I've found that a useful way to increase CTR is to pare down the search phrases to a tightly targeted few (brackets help with this, as do negative quantifiers)
I'm not sure if my methods for rasing CTR would apply to you (I drive traffic to Amazon), but generally speaking, the more concise and well-targeted your search terms are, the higher CTR you get.
Granted, you might reduce total impressions (and perhaps clickthroughs), but I think in the end the greater targeting is worth it (i.e. you get a group clicking through that's more interested in the service/site you are promoting).
