Does in trial still exist?

While doing some of the CPM experiments discussed in another thread, I added some very high search volume terms. Each of these terms has min CPCs of $1+. (these aren't being broadmatched)

My max bid is $0.20.

I should have 0 impressions, right?

I've been watching this account all day.
Account says no ads running.
Account racks up impressions anyway.

My ad appears on Google right now.
In my account, Google still states the ad isn't running.

Makes me think in trial still exists.

And it gets even more interesting. I clicked on one specific ad so that I could track the CPC.

The min CPC for the keyword was $5.
My bid was $0.20.
I was charged $0.05.

Same thing happened here. Hope AWA will not say, 'that's a glitch and we'll fix it'. Hope the ads at the lowest position are still charged $0.05 no matter how high the min CPC is. It’s very good when your ad is the only one there.

I ran a keyword report on my Inactive Keywords. Over 40% of them are racking up impressions and they are not getting charged the Min CPC but rather some CPC less than the max for it. One keyword had over 4,000 impressions yesterday. So my guess is that even if the keyword is inactive, Google might be showing them at random to really check whether those keywords have apoor Quality score or not.

Just back from a weekend unplugged, and I am shocked that this isn't front page news any more.

Are you still seeing impressions on "inactive" ads? To me, the seemingly continued existence of an "in trial" state may indicate that the algorithm changes are more of a "front end" rework rather than a total restructuring as this update is being sold.
