#1 has a new meaning now!
I tried to see if anyones posted about this before and saw this on another forum dating back to the 13th and I think I saw it here on this forum dating back to April 2002 but it wasn't a very clear post, so I wasn't sure- but does anyone know when this started? Its great!

This [webmasterworld.com] is the one I was referring to, sorry I didn't post it earlier-
In that thread dated April 15th 2002, webmasterworld user Jill discovers that her adwords select are running across the top of SERPs in the Premium Sponsorship section but at the end of the thread decides that it must have been a glitch.
I'm saying that its not a glitch, its a feature(tm) :P Anyone else seen this before or is it breaking news(tm)? :)
However, when two sponsored links are listed on Earthlink, I do get the second sponsored link.
I have a $.90 bid on that [keyword], the minimum is $.88, and the listing above me apparently has a bid in of $5.00!
I don't know if that answers anything about anything, but I've been keeping my eye on it. I'm very interested to see what will appear when AOL moves away from (evil) Overture.
Kind of fun though, my client phoned up and was worried we were going to charge him some huge amount of money because we upped his listing to a top listing.:)
I had to stop him because though the marketplace and products that he flogs is big money, the ROI on this over the last three months, was one enquiry which did not result in a contract. Obviously i am citing a very specialised manufacturing company.
But for less specialised services and products, how big percentage wise can the ROI be on a numero uno listing via the premium on Google ?
I really think that google should stop pushing paid advertiseras to the right the searchers dont look there, it should be setup like AOL and Overture etc paid go ontop of all listings
I have to respectfully disagree, one of the things that turns me off about other search engines is that they place advertisements ahead of real search results-- We have over 2 dozen ad campaigns on Google and they have driven plenty of traffic to our site-- despite their appearance on the right side of the SERPs.
I think Google's got it right with the ads appearing to the right of the search results, but despite all that we still buy (g)Overture ads :)
