It's been a few months now since budget optimizer was launched. Anyone been able to definitively prove that it does or does not work?

Hi,
I can definitely say that it doesn't seem to have done me much discernable harm, maybe! B^>
(Actually, I think I'm getting a slightly lower CPC now, which is good, but my spend is very small. So, a slight positive from me.)

It's worked OK for me on the one campaign for which I turned it on. I'd say with all these changes it's one way to avoid a lot of work. Set a small monthly budget, let the optimizer find the prices, see if you can tolerate it. Obviously your impressions will probably drop, but then you'll have something to work with, without a large expenditure. Of course your income might fall off during the experiment!

I've never used it but I don't like the idea of it much myself, seems like a good way of letting Google spend as much money as you'll let them! Better to spend as much money as you get a return from.

Tried it in several campaigns. Ended up with fewer clicks and higher cost per click. Stopped using it.

Hi,
It looks like the Optimizer may interact favourably with the new (lower in my case, mostly) minimum bids. It's too early to say but this might give me many more impressions for my money than I could possibly manage with manual optimisation.
