Ctr 0.1 and Google didn't slow my campaign. Why?

Hi Guys.

One of my campaigns has 4 ad groups with 2 adds in each group. I get total 5238 impressions and 5 clicks.

One of my add group get 3741 impression and 5 clicks. The other add groups get the rest of the impressions and 0 clicks.

However, Google does not slow my campaign. Anyone have idea why?

Is that because Google does not show real time stats? Or is something else.

Google disables the keyword only if the CTRs in Google.com is below .5% and not if it is so in other search or content networks. So check if you have content network turned on. Even if it is turned off, it is genuinely possible for the CTRs on some of the search network partners to be much lower than the CTR on Google. For e.g. CTRs on comparison shopping networks are a lot different from that on Google.com. For some keywords they are much higher and for some others they are lower by a large magnitude.

My questions was about the campaign, not about keywords. They say that if your campaign has less then 0.5 CTR they slow down your campaign. If they stop your campaign 3 times - they cahrge you $5.00

The same logic applies here too. Even at the campaign level, they look at CTR only on google.com and not the overall CTR. I am not telling that this is the reason but just that it is a possible reason.

It could be that they are OK with that low ctr on the advertised terms, I've never seen it but if all advertisers are struggling to get above .5% then it would suggest that Google may cut you some slack.

Sounds logical. In very fierce competition, it's impossible all advertisers to reach 0.5

Thanks, Zoreli

On the adgroup page it shows two percentages one for search and one for content. It's the search one you need to be looking at. Also the keywords that make up the campaign are obviously low ctrs individually but they might be low ctrs because of the adwording and not the keywords themselves.

Abagail can be found sitting in a booth in the back of the Keyword Cafe (2 blocks north of the Googleplex) every weekday from 12:30 - 1:30PM. Slip her $100 and your customer id and you'll never be slowed again. Works like a charm.
