should these be used as negative keywords

I read somewhere that you should add these types of words in your negative keyword lists to optomize. Is this true? If so, why? Other words in that list are "adsenseadvisor" ,"adwordsadvisor", Also, "sex", "porn" if you do not have an adult site.

I still use operators as negatives. I definitely see a difference in highly SEOed industries.

What about "related" Less targeted then the true search I would think.

Google special operators as negatives definitely work for various types of keywords and do no harm otherwise so I include them globally.

I used to use, say, a CD title as a keyword. After 1 day, I'd have 3,000 impressions and 2 clicks and they'd get disabled. Now they can hold their own.

What happens is SEM people use -allintext crime and punishment to find out how many SERP listings contain the term. Those pages also will have AdWords selling that book. They just each got themselves an impression. Google really should be able to exclude those as impressions for AdWords purposes.
