My question is about google adwords. I have looked into this and setup an account. There seem to be a good number of merchants with similar offerings.
One thing I have found is that there are several sites that have links to online casinos/pokerrooms. It looks like these sites generate revenue from sending players to these casinos and are then offering free poker chips etc to the people who sign up through that website. I had read that google didn't allow ads that promote online gambling and was told on live chat that this was true and that a site could not have ANY links to gambling sites. This is not true as I have seen them and they will be targeting the same people I want which is a little annoying. When I asked google how they were able to have links they gave me some copy and paste response that dodged the question. Have these people simply set up and ad without links to have it approved and then added links later? I would hope google would check from time to time no?
I personally don't care all that much if gambling ads are accepted or not but if it is a policy it should stick. Especially when I am trying to gain paying customers for my site and am competing against these other guys.
