Why no Google reps on weekends?

Has Google ever offered an explanation of why, with ads running 24/7 and problems arising all the time, they can't manage to have support reps over the weekend? It's not like problems don't come up between Friday and Sunday, and their support staff faces a big backlog on Monday. Surely they could find staffers willing to work weekends or ask everyone to work one weekend day a month or find some other way to cover the time. It would be a major benefit to customers without any additional expense to Google.

It appears they already have ad approvers working around the clock, because I've had ads approved with timestamps in the middle of the night, and a support rep confirmed this when I asked. So if they're going to shut down our ads at night and on weekends, why don't they at least provide email and phone support on weekend days?

I've wondered about this before, but I had an ad for a high-CTR ad group suspended on Friday afternoon (even though it had been suspended earlier in the week, I emailed support, they ascertained there was no problem, and re-enabled it). It's pretty aggravating that there's no way to get hold of them till Monday morning, and I know others have expressed the same sentiment here.

I couldn't agree more. Their lack of weekend support has cost me severely as things tend to go wrong right around 5:00 on Friday's. Considering their current position in the market, I believe they have a responsibility to their clients to be available.
