Viewing Google in different areas

I am in Chicago, and I am doing some state targeting with my google adwords. Is there any way for me to fool the google search engine into thinking that I am in Ohio so that I can see what an Ohio search on my keywords looks like? I know I can see where my ads are running through the ad tools, however that doesn't let me see what my competition is doing in OH on a local basis.

I don't believe there is a way to do this yet. At the WebmasterWorld conference in NOLA, this question was actually asked of one of the Google Engineers. It sounds like there is no way to do this now, but perhaps it may show up.

Disclaimer: Never tried it myself, so it may be possible, just never heard of it working.

This is a very good idea, especially when the location you are at you are showing a significant drop in rankings and you want to judge this against other locales in the country (as is my current situation) without having to call your country-wide sales reps and make them do searches for you. Lucky for us we have this option when needed. BTW, has anybody else noticed that the SERPs are different between PCs and Macs as well? I'm starting to think that the way Google compiles their listings has something to do with the way your own connection is set up. You think maybe? Or am I just joining a long line of G-Conspiracy Theorists?
