Landing Page Keyword Density (Adwords)

does the content itself affect placement?

As our account features many campaigns that are country-specific, we are directing more and more clients to the URL of the travel guides associated with those countries, as those pages have a deeper keyword density related to those terms. Does doing this affect Adwords' Sponsored links placement or is this something that generally only works for natural results? Any help would be appreciated...

Does doing this affect Adwords' Sponsored links placement

No.

The factors that affect the sponsored links placement are max CPC and CTR. For Content ads, the text of your ad may have something to do with it as well.

The landing page is viewed by the AdWords review team in order to approve or disapprove your ads.

The landing page strongly affects your conversion rate, and your ROI.
