I seem to be hitting a ceiling with my traffic buys on adwords

I have many keywords across a number of different sites, and just cannot seem to bust around 5k per day

do you all think that there is a limiter of some sort in Adwords, an if there is, is there a legal way around it?

I have thus far tried increasing my bids across all the sites and keywords, and that doesnt seem to do much except drop my ROI

Also - if your in here reading this message, could I also ask if you hav ever found a better PPC engine for ROI than AdWords.

To date I have tried Inktomi, Overture, FindWhat, Kanoodle and others without too much success

thanks in advance

You may have simply maxed out what Adwords can do for you. Any given sector only has so many people searching for things. From what you describe I would suspect that's the limit you're bumping into.

Watch for ways to fine-tune your Adwords, but rather than getting bogged down with endless tweaks, look for new places to promote.

thx buckworks, but because I have so many keywords and sites as well, I am pretty sure that Google has far more traffic than that

my mind is turning to what types of tests I can peform to work out if there is a ceiling?

At 5k per day you should have your own Google rep - what did she/he have to suggest - just increase your bids? Do you enable content network?

Here's a possible test - if you think you've reached an overall spending limit, try pausing adgroups that have a low ROI temporarily and see if spending goes up on the others.

Try keeping your max bid at the normal level and increse your maximum spend. If you have loads of ads and terms it can sometimes be a 'feature' of adwords that it mistakenly delivers less adverts due to estimating spend incorrectly.

You have to be careful with this though, never put your max bid too high when you have a high max spend, you could end up badly burnerd by a competitor opting for a high max bid too.
