i have 2 ads for the same keyword.

A has a ctr of 4%.
B has a ctr of 2%.

A may have the better ctr but how do i know which of the ads has a better conversion rate?

I know you can make 2 campaigns but it would take up too much time when using 5000 keywords.

thanks

Are you using the Google conversion tracker, or another conversion tracking program that you can add custom tracking codes to the destination URL?

The AdWords conversion tracker won't do what you want.

Instead, you need to have each ad go to a separate URL so you can track them separately with your site logs. The separate URLs can differ simply by a "GET" parameter that a script can read and store in a cookie, which then can be added to the record created when a conversion is made.

If you select custom reports (this is your friend, learn how to use it), and then run a report that includes ad text and conversions, you can see conversions by the ad, by ad titles, etc.

I'd suggest playing with the custom reports while including parts of ads and conversions to learn how to pull up the report you want. It's in there, just have to determine exactly the data you want to get.
