Superlatives Question

Hey,

I got flagged for a couple superlatives so I sent AdWords a message stating that they are on my front page. I never got a message saying that the message went through (I used their superlative message box).

Anyways, I am wondering how long I can expect to wait for an answer, and if there are any ways that people know of that can make it easier to get in.

Thanks,

C.K.

Usually it takes 1-2 working days. Depends very much which day you sent the inquiry.

Btw, are your ads active now, while waiting for approval?

Hey,

No my ads are not active yet - This is a fresh Campaign waiting to start. I really need to get in so that I can use superlatives - I went ahead a wrote 200 ads in the last few days all with lowest and best. I hope I get in!

Thanks,

C.K.

Well, I hope your landing page supports what you wrote in the ads.

Here's from Editorial Guidelines:

Avoid Superlatives

* If your ad contains comparative or subjective phrases such as "best," "cheapest," "top-rated," or "#1," verification by a third party must be clearly displayed on your website.

I hope you previously read this and are fully aware. Let's face it, otherwise everybody could claim to have the best products and the lowest prices!

Hey,

I know what a 3rd party is, but could you give some good examples that I could use to support this?

Thanks,

C.K.

I know what a 3rd party is, but could you give some good examples that I could use to support this?

We created an ad that said basically: "We're better than the (named) competition, and we cost less, too!"

The ad was disapproved saying that the landing page needed evidence to support our claims. (Interestingly enough, the reason why the ad was disapproved was not visible on our AdWords account, but only appeared in the email message sent to me to inform me about the disapproval. The "tell me why" link from the disapproved ad only gave a generic message.)

So I created a new landing page with a link to the compititor's online store to prove the "costs less" claim, and a link to a consumer magazine's online article comparing our products to prove the "Our product is better" claim. The new ad has been running for weeks with no problem.
