A baffleing situation with my Adwords account.

What could be causing it?

i have this one account that keeps getting more hits the lower i put my cpc, its simply amazing to me, i started at 75 cents per click avg and was getting about 15 clicks a day, ive kept lowering it, to now its at 18 cents per click and im getting 20-25 clicks a day.

its just baffeling, but a good problem to have :)

Interesting problem!

Is the account new, or have you recently submitted a large number of KW? If so, you can never know how many were approved and running at a certain time.

If you increase your bids now the number of clicks will decrease? I seriously doubt that!

Inferno,

This is likey to be a daily budget issue. The more expensive clicks "fill" your daily budget sooner, causing non full delivery. Lowering your max bid "fits" more clicks in the budget, hence the volume goes up. Check your daily budget.

Heheh. Agreed! Pretty hard to comment on, though, without knowing what changes you've made during the course of events.

As just one example, if you've constantly improved your ads and ad/keyword targeting, your CTR could go up, which could in turn cause your CPC to go down.

And when clicks cost less you get more of them within a given budget, as Robsp pointed out.

In any case, fingers crossed that it continues in this same general direction! ;)

Inferno,

If your CTR is very good (and improving) the max daily budget calculations of G can be way to low. I've had cases where I had to set the max budget to 10 times the avg daily spend on campaigns with an average CTR of 10%. You can tell by trying the Ads Diagnostic Tool which tells you when ads are not always shown for budget reasons although the max budget may be more than enough.

If it is not that than it is magic :)

i have a campaign, the estimated daily budget suggested by system is USD 20/day. I kept it USD 3 a day. Ads are displaying perfectly. Though the CTR rate is low as it is designed in a way only interested would click on it. After 7 days my total cost for this campaign is USD 2.3 so now i kept the daily budget to USD 2 and no problem with it.

Just posted if this might be a useful information for AWA.
