There was a lot of fuss about Google enabling prefetching in FireFox [webmasterworld.com]. I made a joke post [webmasterworld.com] about prefetching AdSense on all of my pages.

Today I was looking through GreaseMonkey scripts for FireFox and came across a script called Google Ad Fetcher. It prefetches all AdWords ads in SERPs.

I am not an advertiser, but I find this disturbing non the less. I am pretty sure not many would use such script, but I just want to give you heads up.

AWA, Can you confirm that this kind of prefetching doesn't count as a click for us? Otherwise we're unnecessarily paying even when the user doesn't see our page.

I doubt there would be an easy way to spot this. I am sure that the author of such evil module would go to an extent to try to hide it.
