Apologies if its a naive question, but am I correct thinking that minimum bid costs to UK based advertiser are higher than if advertisers was in the USA, ie: 5 pence min bid (+ VAT) rather than 5 cents?!?! Given current exchange rate this is almost 100% more. I think I have read something to that effect years ago, but did not pay attention to it back then :(

Yes.

It'd be cheaper if the UK were to join the Euro.

added: sorry, just noticed that min bid is 4p for the UK - still more expensive though.

Can I join AdWords on US's site and bid in dollars (they seem to allow choice of currency there where as UK's site does not), credit card is issued to UK bank, so there will be currency conversion charges but they are mere 2-3%.

Is there anything in ToS prohibiting this from done? I am going through their FAQ and can't see answer to my question :(

It's not so much of an issue for many keywords that cost above minimum bid anyway. For some terms it can be handy to go in at 5c.

Sticky me if you have a big minimum bid campaign to run :) (Am I allowed to say that?)

P.S. Big means £3K+ / month (around 100,000 clicks), We are VAT registered and UK based.

Thanks, but I want to have full control over campaigns :)

I registered on USA's site and plan to run campaigns from there as 4 pence + VAT is more than 5 cents + VAT. I have not found anything that would state its a violation of AdWords, if it is please post!
