Why can't I get my ad to show?

I was testing my URLs that have the {ifcontent:GoogleAdWordsContent} tag, so I wanted to find my ad on a content site. I tried sending myself an email message to my Gmail account with some of my keywords. The only thing that showed up were ads from my competition and some other unrelated stuff.

So I figured I had too many keywords that were diluting the content search. I made a new ad group with only the few top CTR keywords, all broad matches except for one exact match.

Then just to make sure, I clicked the "Edit Keywords" link, then copied my entire list of keywords, pasted them into a Gmail message and then viewed it. Still, mainly my competition.

By the way, if I go to a different content site that lets you search for products and put my keywords there, it will find my ad. So how do I get Gmail to find my keywords?

It generally takes 2-3 days for your ads to be placed into the content network. I believe they go through a hand review process before they get added.

In our case it took almost a week.
