If you show a display URL as widget.com/$10Off$50Purchase and when you enter it into your browser it takes you to widget.com will Google allow it? Thanks

Your display URL as widget.com/$10Off$50Purchase may be misunderstood to be used for advertizing. Therefore, it may be disallowed due to "the Display URL field cannot be used as another line of ad text". However, other review may not think so.
Try it and you will know.

I wouldn't worry about doing that, I've been doing it for yonks with no problems.

If it has got past the auto filters IME many times it will get though a human check.
Sometimes it will not esp if your landing page does not mention the offer, in your case "$10Off$50Purchase".
