Url matching display does not apply to some people

I complained to my rep about an ad that does not match. The display and the real URL before the .com do not match. I was told he was ok. So there is some leeway to this rule and it is enforced on a case by case basis.

Hi,

Hostnames on the Internet are *not* case-sensitive.

EXAMPLE.COM example.com and ExAmPLE.CoM are the same server.

Everything other than the hostname of a normal URL *is* case-sensitive though.

So the behaviour that you report may be correct...

google checks for case sensitive. This more like

display - www.example.com
goes to www.example.com/domain/

i have that in one of my campaigns, it shows 1 url, but takes them to a tracking url, like it says

www.example.com

but actually goes to anothersite/trackingid

however i also purchased www.example.com and have it forwarding to my site anyways, so it doesnt make a difference, the other way is just more convinient for tracking purposes.

The problem is if they allow any display url then the whole one unique url thing is out the window

as www.searcheingeworld.com
www.webmasterworld.com
can all go to www.example.com.
The display does not match the landing url.

or in this case www.example.com/searchengineworld is the landing page with www.searchengineworld.com diplayed. The reps can grant an acception. A bigger account can get around the new rule from January.
