Impressions way below where they should be. Why?

A few days ago I set up a campaign on terms that are not too competitive. Having advertised on one such term last decenber and seeing 80,000 impressions over the month (UK-wide) I am a little confused as to how my whole campaign on a dozen terms is getting just a few hundred impressions a day.

The max bid is reasonable, the conversion when shown is good and the terms are not disabled or otherwise stopped from appearing.

Any Ideas?

On problem could be that part of the campaign is set for just Scotland. I'm not sure how well adwords copes with geographical coverage in the UK.

The site just wants visitors from Scotland as they deliver services in the home. Any tips?

Thanks for the suggestions.

The budget is set way above what is likely to be spent so it shouldn't slow delivery.

Delivery says 100% but I don't believe it. A term that I know gets thousands of UK searches per day has had 5 impressions today for the whole of Scotland (10% of population).

My account has started to say it is approaching its limit for keywords. This is probably due to adding 14,000 phrases at once.

Any Ideas?

I wonder it might be a combination of the ads not having been reviewed yet (and thus showing on Google alone) and possibly having some keywords of a 'sensitive nature' - which are not showing at all yet, since they're unreviewed?

On problem could be that part of the campaign is set for just Scotland.

This makes me wonder, since one can't set part of a campaign to a different country target than other parts of the campaign.

So, I wonder if when you say campaign, you actually mean account?

Delivery says 100% but I don't believe it.

The percent delivered doesn't refer to how often ones ad are showing overall. Instead, it refers to what percent of the time a given ad shows in an Ad Group in which there is more than one ad.

So, in cases in which there is only one ad per Ad Group, the percent delivered can only be 100%.

At the bottom line, inbound, I think your best answer will come from AdWords support, as they can take a look at the account. The rest of us gotta make educated guesses. ;)

Do you have "Content" checked? Or did you have it last december?

Thanks for the advice everyone.

The adverts are starting to show more, I took a report on impressions from the December campaign and saw that it took a few weeks to reach full delivery.

My CTR is 3.2% with an average position of 4.0 so I would imagine there is still a bit of climbing to go on that considering the previous campaign managed 1.5% and got to position 2.

Thanks again
