The area is gambling (not online casinos) and they will not tell me what the specific problem is. There are other ads for the same subject matter as mine that are running.
The only answer that I get is a very general one (below) so I have no idea what it specifically is that they don't like. If I knew then I would change it.
<paraphrase>As noted in the AdWords TOS, Google reserves the right to make editorial decisions about ads and advertisers that we accept </paraphrase>
Is it common for them to not explain the specific problem and what can I do?

[edit reason] No email excerpts, please see TOS #9 [/edit]
You could of course write them and show why your KWs should be online. It's the best thing I can think of.
I absolutely agree. If you feel that you have been disapproved in error, then by all means reply directly to the disapproval email and make your case.
It's important to reply directly to that email, if possible - it will help speed things up for you.

With respect you're missing the point. It is that Adwords 'seem to refuse' to say what the exact problem is in order for me to change or remove the problem.
Imagine if you're driving along and get pulled over by the police and are told "your licence is being revoked". When you ask why they say "you have broken the law", you say "what law", they say "we have the right to...", you say "but what law..", they say etc.. I think I've made my point.
What is going on?
I'm not sure if gambling ads are allowed or not. Only casinos are forbidden or also gambling?
This is from Google help:
"Advertising is not permitted for online casinos, sports books, bingo, and affiliates with the primary purpose of driving traffic to online gambling sites."
Maybe you could elaborate about your site and AWA could tell us more what is G. policy related to your particular "gambling" situation.
