Reusing Disabled Keywords

Will This work?

Hi Everyone,

Haven't been on this side of the forum for a while, anyways, I have a quick question.

Regarding keywords that are disabled, can I delete a keyword and reuse it after adding a lot more negative keywords associated to my main keyword? would that be helpful in improving the ctr? Or would the history of the keyword having low ctr still cause it to be disabled? Assuming I delete all the instances of the same keyword from my account and readd it later.

Theorhetically it should improve ctr but wanted to see if there's anyone who constantly use this approach to improve their ctrs.

i've just seen them go "on hold" right away then get some impressions and clicks and go back to disabled. even with a ctr of 8% they get back to disabled.. duno if its a battle to keep going.. but once a word was said to be slowed theres no way to get rid of it in your account :-/

Try deleting it from all accounts and then re-introducing it...

That's no guarantee, but worth a try.

There is no predictable future regarding this. The best you can do is delete all instances and readd it in a different new adgroup (eventually with negatives), but nobody could tell you precisely what it will happen.

You just have to do it and hope to be lucky enough not to get disabled.

as an experiment... I use the keyword in a totally different account and click on my keywords for about 20 times... "different times of the day" since it's at .05 cents only.. so I pay $1. so far it stayed alive for a day...

We'll see how that goes...

Sounds interesting, and a resonable investment.
Keep us posted with the development, I for one am very curious if your KW stays alive.

mike you bet... so far these keywords are worth $300 to me... :D

if I have to spend $10 equivalent for 200 clicks to keep it alive... I will do it.. :D

btw... clicking on our own ads doesn't violate any tos right? google probably won't care since I'm paying for it anyways...

Honestly, I don't know...
But shouldn't they be fraudulent clicks?

Otherwise, one could put MaxBid=0.05, click 100 times, and then raise MaxBid to use his huge CTR to reach the top positions.

So be careful, you might get a refund but be disabled!

Innovative solutions, indeed, but it's sad if that's what it's come to.....

When you have such problems, you must choose your weapons...
