Seems Google has created a new set of Google hats (black ones even), the 'AdWords Qualified Professional'.

Received a 'goody' package today with the note: You are one of the first 100 Google Advertising Professionals to reach Qualified Status.

While the hat won't change my mind to advertise or not with Google (although, gifts are always appreciated - where are the coupons and $$ ;) ) it is nice to see Google continue to embrace agencies and continue expanding their relationships with those who bring them clients.

Add TrumanTiger to the list. 8%.

Hey AWA, how's it going with the exam? Or do you need to wait two weeks before you can take it again? :-)

Though I like hats and gifts (*cough* *hint* *cough*), I would still just settle for my logo. Probably be a bit anti-climactic now:( Helped beta test the MCC for a few months before release, and passed the test on Feb. 12th...but managed to fall through the cracks. A bit frustrating after explaining the story more than a few times (to support, a rep at the conf, and here).

It is a good program, and the MCC was a great service upgrade...but bureaucracy sucks.

Stuntdubl, any chance you could fire off an email from within the account that should have the logo - and in the subject line please say "PLEASE FORWARD TO ADWORDS ADVISOR - BY REQUEST"? I'll see what I can do from this end about the logo and (with luck) the hat.

Can't make any promises about the hat, though I'll do my best. It was a very limited production run!

Hey AWA, how's it going with the exam? Or do you need to wait two weeks before you can take it again? :-)

Too funny, Eurydice. I'll tell you, there is nothing like being test-phobic (going back to grammar school days...) and having hundreds of folks know you are taking a test - and then asking after the results!

AWA Test Update: I've not taken the test yet, but it is high on my to-do list. I've decided that first, I also want to go through all the Learning Center modules I haven't gone through yet - just to give myself my best shot at success. ;)

And no, I will not be posting my score! (Unless I get one of those hats...) ;)

The hat is much less technical.

Heheh. My favorite line of the week so far, Chris_D... ;) Glad you all are enjoying the stuff!

8/100. Hmmm, nice. Wonder what the finally tally will be? I'm guessing at least 10%, if not higher.

Hey AWA,

The Fedex man just turned up at our office - one of our other guys just got his GAP Goodie box :)

He was feeling a bit left out earlier this morning when I arrived at work with my hat!

I wonder how long it will take for one of the hats to end up on ebay? "Google black hat - limited edition of 100 worldwide"

:)

LOL, it never occurred to me that Google have given us a black hat! (Sorry bit slow!)

9% so far with Hitprof and TrumanTiger to add to the list. HitProf, when did you sign up for an MCC?

Hello Everyone,

I saw this posting and had to Join!

I am your No.11 I think (or is it 10?). I received the hat, pen and pad on Tues but passed the exam end of Jan! I guess shipping to the UK would take a little while!

Have been wearing it at work for fun and had quite a few remarks but I'm still proud!

:-)

I finally got to see one of these hats 'in the wild', for a brief shining moment, and the former product designer in me feels that the hat is actually an 85% cool grey, rather than black. Heheh.

True story: It's probably another example of the separation between AdWords and Search, but I never even thought of the 'black hat' thing either. (Sorry bit slow!)

I can only assume those were admiring remarks!

I love how truly international this Forum is. It's so cool. I hope you enjoy the stuff...

Tell me it ain't so!

AWA (Now clicking through to famous large auction site, hoping for hat opportunity...)

Count me in.

I have received my package (with coveted hat) although the hat has been usurped by my fiancé. So far it's had more use than the nifty little logo.

I'll keep my eye out for your email, stuntdubl. ;)

Thanks for sending.

<added> A team mate just walked into my office with the email - that was fast! So, I'll see what I can do from this end, and have someone from the 'Get Logo Team' reply to your email when resolved... </added>

>>Add TrumanTiger to the list.

Thanks for getting me on the list. I did post in another thread when I received my goodies. Nice hat; I use the notebook to track hours; and after a few days I even figured out how to make the pen light up!

Nice stuff, Google!

Add me to the list as well. Good2Go

We can't scan and post the certificates with "First 100" for all to see can we? ;)

Seems like we're too busy to promote it.... which is a good thing.

Here's a question for Black Caps: What other GAW resources do you read, asides from WebMasterWorld? Magazines, blogs, lists?

Saw this post and also couldn't resist joining. I just received my hat in Israel a few days ago. I even posted photos of the gifts on my web site. Milking this for all its worth :)

Well, it's been a month. In my first post I said:

By my calculations there must have been over 100 who met all the qualifications from the start and who took the test in the first 2 days it was offered. I base this on the fact that I passed, if I recall correctly, on the 3rd day it was offered (11 Nov), got my cert the first day they were available (9 Feb), and I haven't received a hat.

No hat here. So I'd have to conclude my original calculations were right.

No hat here...

Cline, if you'd be willing to send an email from within the 'qualified' account, to the attention of AdWordsAdvisor, I'll see what I can do ;)

We can't have you hatless now, can we?!

(BTW, using the site mentioned in your profile as a point of departure, I've done a bit of digging - and you should have had your hat and other stuff quite some time ago...)

AWA has done some research on this. A hat for me was sent.... to one of my clients... to an office of their US subsidiary where no one knows who I am since I deal with their HQ in the UK.

I am pretty sure you're now in email communication with the right person, Cline, so I hope you'll help us to update our mailing list with the right address. ;)

Glad we're getting this straightened out - and thanks for sending that email.

You know - having contact information that is different than billing would solve the above issue...

Just can't resist, I've asked for this sooooo many times

Just goes to show the value of investing in a good database.

Of course, Adwords could do what a lot of people do when they need to find an address: Search in Google. My mailing address is on my website, on the Contact Us page.
