OK.. the 50 million keyword Google people are getting rediculous.

I just did a search for welding cable. This was the #2 ad:

Perhaps aiming at the Flashdance fetishists out there! Could be quite a niche...

I'm guessing it's the same ad, but if you're more into the deceased, you can apparently also find Sexy Dead singles.

And don't forget the Dead sale on eBay! :D

It isn't just ads. I was looking up side effects for a prescription drug a while back, and one of the top Google search results was a page that promised "sexy [prescription drug name] videos."

And no, the prescription drug had nothing to do with hanky-panky. :-)

This is funny in some ways, but lately I have also seen a big trend for these type of JUNK ads to drive relevant ads off of the page.

It seems that it is almost impossible now to do a search on any term at all without bringing up a ton of crap totally irrelevant ads. While most prevalent in Google ads, it happens in Overture also.

Makes me wonder what % of the ad order / rank is determined by relevance and which is determined by ca$h.

Surround a 'relevant' ad with crap ads and it makes the whole page look like crap.

I think you'll find this sort of thing improving over the coming weeks and months.

And those who find these types of ads objectionable will, I hope, find my occasional 'soap box' posts - regarding what I've come to think of as keyword responsibility - to be at least bearable. ;)

I hope it improves - in fact I seem to see some already, as noted in another thread.

I don't really find them objectionable, except in the sense that non-relevant ads increase the "noise factor" - and if it gets too high, all ads are just "noise" and they are all ignored. If people get used to seeing 'trash' ads, then soon nobody sees the ads at all.

That's what happens when I search - I glance to the right, see a couple of boilerplate "Great deals on ****" ads, and so ignore the rest.
