I feel bad for people bidding on this certain keyword that I cant post on here, but google has posted a link on their homepage for something which brings up a search query for something kind of different (than posted on their homepage). The traffic they are recieving today is going to be high and untargetted.

Im sure you can find out what im talking about if your smart.

Does google charge full price for clicks like this, are they counted as content hits, because they kind of are.

Just something I noticed.

I'm sure we can talk about the front page of Google. The term I'm sure your talking about is Movies. I'm sure the people that bid on that term like the traffic. Anybody who bids number one for movies is already paying a ton of money. It is relavant. Hopefully they have budgets set. That might be a good term to bid on later in the day after everybody has gone over their budget.

Its not targetted what-so-ever, people click on the ad for movie showtimes, advertisiers are showing "download movie" ads, there would be no good convertion rate there at all.

The search query there should be movie showtimes, instead of movies.

I mean that is what the link is for movie showtimes, not movies (in general).

If you search movie showtimes you can see there are actual advertisers bidding on movie showtimes, that would be benificial to them.

And it also would provide the searcher with more relavent information.

Well, perhaps their ads shouldn't be so broad either!
six of one, half-dozen of the other.

The added exposure only costs the advertiser if they click, impressions are free, and someone looking for showtimes surely wouldn't click on "download movies" would they? unless they wanted to see about downloading movies?

You bid on a one word term you know what you are getting into. Besides the ads are very targeted. Why would you click on an ad that says download movies when you are looking for movie showtimes. I do agree that G should put a better term there but I don't think the bidders are unhappy about it.

Or unless they would to check it out, then they would hit back of course after they seen that you had to pay.

No traffic would convert.

Well of course movies isnt a great keyword as it is for those advertised, but a correct query should be movie showtimes, not movies.

It is more relavent for searchers, and is more relavent for advertisers.

Well yes ot is stupid for a advertiser to put a "download movies" ad on there and that is there fault for that.

They are going to see alot of high traffic --I dont think it will convert, that is all i am trying to say.

But i do agree that the traffic would convert either way, they are just going to see alot more of it. lol

For me, no one clicks for a freebie

-free

are de rigueur for all my campaigns!
