Raised daily limit, but no difference

How long should I wait before changing back?

This has been a really slow month so far, so I raised my daily limit from $1 to $5 to see if I could bring in some new customers. It's been just over a week, but our number of new customers is the same as always.

So, when you raise your daily limit, how long do you wait to see results? I don't mind leaving my budget at $5, and figure I probably need to give it at least a month, but I thought I'd see a difference fairly quickly.

Have any experiences to share?

When you raise your daily limit, G will almost immediately raise your budget within the system.

However, if you weren't hitting your $1/day spend before, then raising your daily budget won't do much as you weren't hitting it before.

Hi Rachel,

I suggest you use the Recommended budget function in Campaign Settings. Whatever it says (usually too high) set your budget 1 dollar more. This will allow your ads to show every time a search is made. Depending on your industry, 99% of the time it wont even spend close to the recommended budget.

You should see results in a couple of days!

P.s. Your Daily Budget was only 1 dollar? Must be a pretty niche Campaign.

Hi, E. Yes, the $1 was being hit. My credit card would usually wind up being charged between $32 and $35 dollars.

Yes, it's pretty niche, Delegate. Most people that are already in the business know who we are, and we get most of our new customers from forum referrals, small regional meetings that we send door prizes to, etc. I'm using AdWords to pick up newbies trying to break into the business, and that are looking for their first suppliers. I figured $30 a month was worth it for a couple of extra new customers every month. For $150, I need to see a lot better numbers.

Thanks for the input so far; I appreciate it.

As always, you should be tracking your clicks and seeing what is coming from where. Both naturally, and ppc, this is important.

I would consider creating some new campaigns, or building on the ones you have with additional related keywords. That is always sure to help spend effectively if you know how to target them right.
