hello all,

I did a search on Google Competition but am a bit confused.

How can a keyword have very low competition (0.6), low Google monthly search volume (20) but high CPC ($7)?

Are the number of searches and Competition and CPC anyhow related?

I had thought if the keyword has high competition then the number of advertisers are higher hence normally higher CPC.

thanks in advance,
DP

My guess is: If the monthly search volume for a keyword is low Google may set a higher max. CPC to it. $7 seems to be very high. Is it a word that Google does not like?

The only way you really can find out what the actual data is, is by creating a campaign and running it. Google will then give you the real numbers.

Otherwise, their numbers are so far off, they cannot be used for anything else than a very rough guide.

Highly competitive areas close the gap between your bid and actual CPC, and stiff competition does raise bids (in any auction), but in areas of both light and heavy competition, your Quality Score is a far bigger factor regarding your CPC.

AdWords is more like golf than football, it's more about "you" than "them" (but they do matter of course).

Hello

If you have checked keywords competition and search volume using keyword planner than it may vary while setting up campaign. When you will create separate ad for particular that keyword with relevant destination url your bid will decrease.
