I would like to know that some ad group has shown an Ad Served Percentage , some not. My ads sometime show just 32%, sometime 92% , sometime 100%. What is exactly meaning of that? I think the daily budget is very high and ppc rates are also high.

I use phase match method like this : "switzerland hotels", Is this the best to use for effective.

Please let me know what should I do about this?

Nuttakorn, this has come up a time or two on this Forum, but I'll be darned if I can find those threads.

And, since I have just a few minutes to finish this, I'm going to plagiarize myself and quote a response that I wrote this week in another Forum. I only say this in case it looks really familiar to someone who might happen to read both Forums!

In any case, I do think it'll address your essential question:

Assuming that you're quoting the 'served - xx%' message below your ad in the Ad Group view of your account (which is the only place that I can picture it appearing), this doesn't really refer to what percentage of the day your ad is showing.

Rather, it is meant to tell you what percentage of the time that ad is showing relative to other ads in the same Ad Group, when there are more than one.

So, I'd look below the keyword list in the Ad Group, and I am guessing that you'll see other ads there, along with their own percentages. If you add up the percentages of all the ads, it'll come very near to 100%.

If you don't see other ads, then there are probably deleted ads which are set to be 'hidden'. To see those deleted ads, just check the checkbox above the keyword list (and to the right) where it says "Include deleted items that were active in this date range".

Do also be aware that what you see is entirely dependent on the date range to which you're set.

For this reason, you'll probably want to experiment with different date ranges. The default, BTW, is set to 'yesterday', and that is what you'll see unless you change it. And, its' a 'sticky setting' which will always stay where you put it.

Hope this helps make sense of what you're seeing!

I set up a new campaign yesterday. It has just the one ad in it - nothing else - yet the "ads served %" is showing a ridiculously low figure.

Compared to what - itself?

Syzygy, here's my best guess:

Although the Ad Group is new, and has only one ad, my guess is that you have edited the ad at least once, which actually creates a new ad and deletes the old copy.

So, take a look at it again, after having checked the box for "Include deleted items that were active in this date range". I'd suggest the date range of 'all time', btw.

I'm betting you'll see at least one other (now deleted) ad there, at the bottom of the page, under the keyword list. And that if you add up the percentages, you'll have 100%.

On the other hand, if you don't see another ad, then you've got me stumped, and I'd suggest contacting support so that we can look at the actual account. ;)

I hope you'll let me know what happens. I'm curious!

Well, AWA, unsurprisingly your best guess was indeed the correct one. As soon as I read your comments I thought; hang on, I did go back and make a textual change - albeit to one letter.

Didn't even consider that. You live and learn - even the most minor of changes creates a new ad in the system. One + one makes 100%!

Thanks for the lesson - much appreciated. I'll try to pay more attention in class next time. ;-)

Whew! Breathing more easily now. (Hard to make a guess in a public forum sometimes, and I've already been wrong once today!)

Thanks for the update Syzygy, and I'm glad the mystery is solved.

(And btw, even though the 'evidence' is there if you know where to look for it, I'm not sure that it's widely understood that editing an existing ad actually creates a new one - so you were in good company!)
