Hello to all, I am new in this forum and come from germany, please excuse possible language mistakes.

Few days ago I started with adwords for the first time. I have 3 campaigns and for every campaign I have a list of around 20 keywords, but only the first 4-5 in my list get impressions, why?

Also I am wondering why google proposed with my CPC
that I would get position 8 with my ad, but in reality I have now position 70. How can this be,
Is the google estimation so wrong?

best regards missgirl

Not all keywords will always get impressions. At least that is my case. If you think up those keywords yourself you have to just wait until someone in internet land does a search.

Another thought, have you tested those keywords yourself to make sure your ad is showing?

I have the same thing. I sometimes have 10-15 keywords for a campaign. The top ones get impressions. But some don't, even reasonable things you'd think someone must search on.

Even if I google those keywords myself, no ad, no impressions. I've never figured out why.

I have checked it out and my ad will not show up on these keywords. These are actually keywords which
someone "must" search. I thought when I have more
keywords, I will get more impressions. But from my 19 keywords, only 5 get impressions, very strange.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Your ad may not show everytime one of your keywords is search because your daily budget may not be high enough. Example: If you have a keyword that is searched 300 times a day and you are paying 10 cents for it and your dialy budget is $10, Google will spread it's showing out over the day so your ad may show all day long. It just won't show in every search because if it did it would take you over budget.

well this I understand, but why google does not show my ads with all my keywords. For example I have 20 keywords, but they show my ad only with 5, although I did not put a low CPC to the other keywords.

Is it possible someone else has an add for the same thing and their ad is showing? Google will only show ONE ad for the same company. And then it depends on whos ad gets better results for Google.

Well I have a landing page, this should not be the
reason

In my case:
1) budget is not the problem.
2) multiple ads are not the problem.
3) and the keywords I'm buying generally attract NO OTHER ads -- the right side column is blank (And while I admit I usually don't notice whatever junk is in the top two rows, I've checked there too).

Want to see this in action, type "Widgets" into google. Over the last year this set of broad keywords has brought me .X% CTR, on just a few XXXXX impressions. But I've typed it in at dozen times myself and never seen the ad at all.

Wow,

Nextbus!

That's what I always thought the year 2000 was going to be like back in the 1960's. We've seen very little of the predictions from the 1965 World's Fair come true.

They made it like when when I "grew up", we'd walk into the kitchen and say "bacon and eggs please" and a mechanical arm would produce a plate in 10 seconds. And if I was stuck in a traffic jam, I'd just press a button and the car wings would pop out. Vacation on one of the moons of Saturn for a weekend.

Now, I live in a building built before I was born with ancient radiators providing intermittent heat.

The biggest innovation has been in info technology. No one imagined the reach of the internet and instant communication.

BTW, I tried your phrase, it appeared all 6 times with different variations of the ad. I didn't want to do more lest I hurt your impression count. I didn't click either, parsed out the URL and opened in another window.

Good luck with that!
