UK only campaign

from google.com or google.co.uk?

Currently have one campaign with about 50 keywords running worldwide. I now want to start another campaign for a totally different product focusing (initally at least) only on the UK. Should I just add another campaign and pay in cents targetting just UK or is there an advantage (or disadvantage) going through google.co.uk and paying in sterling (assuming I can)?

as far as I can tell, and from talking with Adwords gurus round here, there is no benefit in doing a seperate account for this sort of thing.

I may be wrong, but I would just do it the way you planned.

You don't need to go to Google.co.uk to pay in pound sterling. When setting up a campaign, you have an option of paying in your currency.

Is it advantageous to pay in your currency? I guess so - credit card companies generally charge a small premium when there is a foreign currency charge.

But is the minimum bid $0.05 or £0.05?

When setting up a campaign, you have an option of paying in your currency.

I would like to disagree with the above.

In my opinion you can ONLY choose currency when setting up a NEW account, NOT a new campaign.

the "drop down box" allowing you to choose currency ONLY comes up when creating the account.

"But is the minimum bid $0.05 or £0.05?"

This is particularly relevent as it is a niche area and most keywords will be at the minimum rate.

Shak is right. His brain is definitely working at its best recently - especially after hackers hacked into his brain. [webmasterworld.com]

But what is the absolute minimum rate for keywords if one chooses pound sterling? If the minimum price of keyword "red widget" is 5 cents, what will be the minimum price be if I choose pounds as my currency? Will it be 0.033 pounds (1 GBP = 1.5 USD) or 0.05 pounds?

corrected the GBP-USD exchange rate
