New AdWords Editor

Any Problems Upgrading?

I see that AdWords is pushing out a new version of their excellent AdWords Editor.

Usually (in the old days) there were problems with backups and installations of the new software where it did funky thinks like destroying comments, not allowing to restore from local data etc.

Has anyone downloaded the new version and can you report all is OK and it is safe to do so - or if not, what to watch out for?

I backed-up everything, downloaded the new one, and my backups were lost.

I didn't check for comments as I keep most of those in a PM system and not the editor; so not sure on the comment side.

My solution in this case is to rely on the 2 machine backup method.

I run the new AE on a different machine than my regular one.

Back in the day (pre Windows), I was thrilled to be part of a super-confidential alpha/beta user testing group - in fact it was through our activism with the Boston Computer Society that we asked for and got this and it paid off handsomely for the software developer.

Yeah I went through this a few years ago & now I tell the team to wait for about 2 weeks at least before upgrading.
It is better than years ago though.
