OK, I'm a newbie to adwords.
My first thought was to set up a landing page for each product. However, I have different versions of each product, such as analog widget digital widget pro widget etc, all of which use a variation of the same keyword.

I see some sites just advertise on the generic widget, then run an onsite search using the adwords string. Any clues on how to do that? Is it a good idea?

Should I bundle up all my keywords and just dump everyone on the same page, or am I missing something simple that will let me advertise slightly different products with overlapping keywords?

Have a LP for all the variants and use it for generic "widget" search phrases. Also keep the special LPs for each variant where the searcher has typed the particular variant search phrase. This ensures that someone who has taken the trouble to search for your digital widgets is taken directly there.
