How well does Broad Match work?

-or- How thorough do I need to be with my keywords?

I use Broad Match, and I'm not sure how thorough I need to be when defining my keywords. If I want all things widget, do I need to define:

widget
widgets
widgetes
widget's (or "widget s"?)

along with mispellings? Is it generally a good idea to just define as much as you can?
