Hi everyone:

How does adwords treat plural / singular versions when using a required word in modified broad match?

If I want to target both "shoe" and "shoes" and I have:

running +shoe

as a keyword, do I also need to do:

running +shoes

as well?

In short, does having the + in front of a keyword limit to only that particular singular / plural version? Or will both singular AND plural versions match even when there is a + before the keyword?

Thanks in advance.

Same as "plain" broad match. In your example, you only need

running +shoe

to trigger on "running shoe" and "running shoes"

Note that because "running" is not modified, it may trigger on "jogging shoes", maybe even "walking shoes". If you don't want ads to trigger on jogging keywords, modify the word running like so:

+running +shoe

nothing wrong with adding both, sometimes that helps, especially if using the DKI or Conversion Optimizer.
