Does adwords have any known limits? Here's my situation...
I have 2 adwords logins for 2 different sites. I wanted to move all the campaigns from one to the other to make billing easier. I did this but the number of impressions and clicks dropped dramatically on the campaigns I moved.
The campaigns had the same settings as they did on the other adwords account. The impressions dropped to about 1/4. I realise the campaigns start slow and ramp up, but I have left them running for weeks with no improvement. They don't get back to the levels on the other login.
I'm getting 3,000 clicks a day at $200 but can't seem to get it higher.
I then tried adding campaigns for another site, which were fine, but the numbers for my original site seemed to drop!
It almost seems like they don't like the account going over a certain dollar amount. Is $1400 a week a lot? Maybe there is another explanation?
Any ideas? Thanks for your time.
Do you have the same keywords for both sites? If so, then only one ad will show at a time.
There are no upper spend limits.
You might want to talk to your G rep and have them link the two accounts so that the combined account can pull the KW CTR history from the other account for the new campaigns.
Google will let you spend as much money as you can. There is no "max spend" limit.
Did you delete the old campaign and cancel that account? If not, it may still be running, competing with yourself and causing the G system to devalue your primary account with the duplicated campaign.
As you spend more time here, you'll probably hear me say this a lot, but it's pretty good advice IMHO:
When you see something inexplicable in your account, it is a pretty good idea to also contact AdWords Support - as they can take a detailed look into the actual account(s), while those of us here can not.
So, I hope you have also used that 'Contact Us' link, to be found on every page of your account. ;)
I also hope it's all sorted soon.
