Banished from Google

Why? And how to fix it?

Hi there.

Without any apparent reason, it seems that our website have been banished by Google.

First, we have noriced that our ads on Google were not displayed anymore, despite the fact that nothing wrong was mentioned on our Google Adwords account.

After three days wainting for our ads to re appear without succes, we decided to create another Google Adwords account to make our ads display......without more success. Everything looks OK but the ads simply dont show.

Pushing the investigations far away, we have then noticed that our website have been removed from the Google index.

We then sent an email to help@google.com, and they replied us that we had not respected the Google Adword Policy, without telling us what was wrong.

At this step, this situation is very tricky for us and it has become clear that we have benn blacklisted by Google.

My question is :

When Google decides to blacklist a domain, what is really blaclklisted?

1- The domain name?
2- The domain name hosting server's IP?
3- Our own IP (i mean the ip given by our ISP)?

We have also noticed that for the last 30 days, we have recieved a huge number of email delivery failures on our contact email, whereas we never sent these emails from this contact account. Is it possible that somebody uses our contact email to spam around? Is it then possible that this could be the reason why we have been banished by Google?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Xavier

I have precisely the same problem with my account, with the only exception that all my sites are still in the Google index.

I have no idea of what I could have done wrong. The only thing that comes to mind is removing and adding again some keywords that had been disabled by Google. However, I could not find any document where this is prohibited.

Here's the only place that I could find (from the Terms and Conditions):

"Prohibited Uses. You shall not, and shall not authorize any party to: (a) generate automated or fraudulent impressions or clicks; or (b) advertise anything illegal or engage in any illegal or fraudulent business practice in any state or country where your ad is displayed. You represent and warrant that (x) all your information is correct and current; (y) you hold and grant Google and Partners all rights to copy, distribute and display your ads and Targets ("Use"); and (z) such Use and websites linked from your ads (including services or products therein) will not violate or encourage violation of any applicable laws. Violation of these policies may result in immediate termination of this Agreement or your account without notice and may subject you to legal penalties and consequences."

Have not emailed Google so far, because I'm affraid they will not be very communicative.

Can anyone suggest anything?

Why don't the both of you call Google AdWords support at 1-866-2Google (1-866-246-6453)and talk to someone in person.

After reading these posts it makes me suspect that you both have a pretty good idea what is wrong. I may be incorrect about that and apologise in advance if I'm being too suspicious.

The fact that the first poster set up a second account to try and circumvent the problem shows me that maybe he has used this method in the past to get around things at AdWords and this time it just didn't work.

buenapatata,

AdWords and the Organic Index are seperate. Doing something that will get you banned in one, doesn't auto ban you from another as far as I've heard.

If you have a major problem with Google (such as banning), there is only so much support this board can offer without knowing the history of your account and what actually is flagged.

Giving Google a call, as Tropical Island suggested, is your best next step to finding out what exactly happened, and what you can do to resolve it.

You are being too suspicios. :)

Google forced him to behave like that by refusing to explain to him where he went wrong. I have not started a new account so far, but I will have to if I don't manage to solve the problem any other way. Even if I do have to start a new account, I will be still curious to find where the problem was in order not to repeat the same mistakes or violate a term that is unknown to me.

Thanks for the number. :)

Before calling Google, I logged into my account once again.

There was finally a notification from Google at the top stating that there's a problem with billing my credit card. The ads have not been shown since around December 25, and yesterday was the first time I saw this note. So, probably, there's a delay in Google's system in notifying about billing problems. If anyone has a similar problem, check your credit card before starting a new account with Google. :)

I will double check on the credit card, but I'm almost sure that the card is OK. Perhaps, Google is having some problems in billing automation, or the banks are having a problem, whatever...

I don't think you're too suspicious Tropical Island.

It'd be like kicking someone out of your office for being rude and the person walking in the next day wearing a different shirt. You'll still know it's the same person and you'd just kick them out again.

The appropriate response is to politely ask to figure out what you did wrong and, if they don't want to give details, then you "live and learn" and just don't go back. The terms are pretty clear and if they won't even tell you the general term you broke, then you probably more than a couple of them.

I've been incorrectly flagged for breaking a term before and all it took was politely explaining my position (using the "contact us" link from within my account) and waiting for their response. Of course, when I got the initial email I practically had a stroke. But it all worked out in the end.
