The link you sent may still answer why it's so slow though. I do have the the word "women" in the campaign as it has to do with a hobby/craft that many women are interested in. It's also a very small campaign so perhaps it's low priority and Google staff just haven't got to it yet.
...That seems to be more concerning ongoing campaigns. My problem is with the very first contact. I sent the first form in and they need to let me know if my account is approved.
Annej, I am a little confused. I am not quite sure if you have actually created an account yet. And if so, did you do create it yourself online? Or did you perhaps use a AdWords program known as Jumpstart?
Also, I'm not sure, specifically, what you're referring to when you say you '...My problem is with the very first contact. I sent the first form in...'.
Could you provide a bit more detail as to what form you sent in, and how?
I also have adsense, would that slow things down?
No, this should have no affect at all.

I did create the account online. I didn't use Jumpstart as this is just a small low budget ad.

When I finished creating it online I submitted it. The message said Google would contact me when it was approved then I would need to set up my paying process etc. It's been a week or so and I haven't heard back.
I'm wondering if that is typical and I should just wait a while longer or if perhaps my submission didn't get through to Google for some reason.
In other words, what is the typical time line on these things?
So, based on what you've said, you would ordinarily have received an 'automatically generated' email within a very short time, almost certainly within about 15 minutes. This would have included a link to confirm your email address, and once this was done, you would be able to log in to your account.
So it sounds as if you have not received this email. Usually, this happens for one of two or three reasons:
* The email was sent, but was filtered by the advertiser's email program as 'spam'. This may have happened to you, in which case you may be able to find the email, still, by looking in the folders where your suspected spam is typically sent.
* The advertiser entered an email address for an email account that they don't normally check, so when the automatic email is sent, they don't see it. If this seems like a possibility, you may want to check all your email accounts to see if the AdWords email might be in one of them.
* The advertiser entered an email address that was incorrectly spelled, when they created their AdWords account, so when the automatic email is sent, it won't reach the advertiser. If this has occurred, then you'll most likely want to contact AdWords support, have them locate the account for you, and then suggest how to proceed.
For your reference, the email address to contact AdWords support is adwords-support@google.com.
I hope you'll get into you account soon, annej, and I wish you the best of success with your advertising. :)
